Getting Started for Educators
Classroom setup basics: create courses, assignments, rubrics, assistants, and student invite links.

This article covers the basics you need to know to get started using Personify in your classroom.
Getting Started with Personify
- Sign In Go to personifyai.app and sign in using your Google or Microsoft account. If you don't have an account, click "Sign up instead."
- Create a Class After logging in, you'll be prompted to create your first class. Enter a class name (e.g., Econ 101) and click Add an assignment.
- Add an Assignment Give your assignment a name (e.g., Homework 1) and click Add Requirements.
- Upload or Enter Assignment Instructions You can either drop a file (PDF, DOCX, TXT) or manually type in the instructions.
- Next Steps After setup, you can preview the assignment as a student, modify it, or return to your classes.
- Manage Your Classes In the “Manage” tab, you'll see your courses. Use View Course to open the class dashboard, where you can edit, grade, or preview content. This is also where you set a deadline for any assignments.
- Grades View Click Grades to track student progress for each assignment and to assign grades as well. For more information on grading click here.
- Writing Workspace Students will type their work directly in the writing area. If assistants are enabled by the instructor, students will receive AI guidance to help follow assignment requirements. Click Preview to view this workspace before students begin.
- Educator Tools In the assignment editor, you'll see the Educator Tools section. This includes Integrity Analysis and Grading Analysis. Under Configure, you can set how long you expect the assignment to take.
- Create a Rubric Go to the Rubrics tab, give it a name, and choose whether to upload a file or type it manually. See Rubrics in Personify.
- Add a Rubric to an Assignment Open the assignment, scroll down to the Resourcessection, and click Add Rubric to attach your rubric.
- Create an Assistant Go to the Assistants tab, click Create Assistant, and select a template such as Rubric, Grammar, or Writing Assistant. See AI Assistants in Personify.
- Configure the Assistant Give your assistant a name and confirm your settings. Click Create Assistant to finish.
- Add the Assistant to an Assignment In your assignment editor, under Student Assistants, click Add Assistant to connect the assistants you want in that assignment.
- Invite Students Click Sharenext to your course and copy the link. Send this link to your studentsso they can join the course.
- Ready to Go Everything is in place. Sit back and enjoy seeing your students produce real work, guided by the right tools that keep integrity as the standard.
